ArtDaily’s issue Sunday, June 24, featured an article on Yoko Ono’s current exhibition at Serpentine Gallery in London. The image they used to promote the show reminded me of a few other artworks that are on my radar and on the floor.

 

Wolfgang Laib, The Five Mountain Not to Climb On, 1984, Source.

Wolfgang Laib uses materials such as pollen, beeswax, and rice to create his stunning and meditative installations. He had an exhibition at Sullivan Galleries in Chicago last fall. Read more about Laib here. 

Gyun Hur, I Dreamed of Your Utopia, 2011, Source.

In some of her installation, Gyun Hur uses shredded silk flowers to create a mass of systematic and organic color. Learn more about Hur on her website and in this recent review in Art in America.
